Letter from Becky

Sherryl,I was so excited this morning to come in and read your message! This trip has got me so excited, what an oppurtunity to literally fall into my lap! Janae' and I have been friends since we were young, and have only grown closer as we have become adults. She is just wonderful!!! I am married to Jeff going on 13 years, we have a daughter Natalie 10 1/2, and a son Logan age 8. Though we have slowed down in attending our church, we still consider Bethel Assembly our church home, I scrapbook there with the ladies once a month. I also assisted several years with VBS. This is the same church that Doug and Janae' attend. I have been scrapbooking for about 12 years now and really enjoy it, and photography is another passion of mine! This trip just sounds perfect for me! I manage a lighting showroom here in Chillicothe, and have discussed with the owner (my father-in-law) if he would be interested in donating some light fixtures to the church, and he said he would be delighted! So if that is anything you would be interested in, please let me know as soon as possible, for we would need to get them shipped over there. Of course, I can discuss this with you on Saturday. If you have any questions, feel free to email me either here or my home email. Can't wait to meet everyone on Saturday, and am so thrilled to be involved in this wonderful expeirence! Thanks so much, Becky

Letter from Sabulsky's

Dear Friends,
Back in 1992 E-Free Church of Columbia Missouri planted a church in Craiova Romania. God was working in my heart to reach out and help in any way possible. At that time I committed to help build the church. Seventeen years later the time has come to do the electrical work on the church. (It took the church that long to buy and pay off land to build a church.) My son Luke and I have committed our skills and knowledge this coming August to travel to Craiova and wire the new church. I am very excited in two ways. One, just to have the opportunity to finally help fellow Christians complete their dream of having a church to worship and glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Second, to be able to do God's work with my son, who wasn't even born at the time I committed myself. We are so excited to have this opportunity together as a father and son to go and spread God's message through hard work.
E-Free Missions Committee has endorsed this mission trip with the help of Mary Willett. Craiova is still in need of about $60,000 to complete the church. Our Mission team's goal is to raise $10,000 for the Craiova Church.
So if you can find it in your heart to help us achieve Gods plan, enclosed is a self-addressed envelope with a donation card that you can use to help us raise support. Luke and I need to raise $4000 for the mission trip.
You all know me and know how I love to help people in need, so if you could help me help others, I'd really appreciate it.
Enclosed is a letter from the Laws Family, which is more detailed about the church in Craiova.
May God bless you and your family.
Thank You
Larry Sabulsky and Luke Sabulsky

Message From Craiova, Romania Church

Letter from the Laws Family

Dear Friends,

This month is Scott's birthday. He was a Father's Day present 31 years ago. We want to do something special for his birthday. We felt so blessed that God chose to honor Scott in his death by allowing his Memorial Fund to be part of building HIs church in Romania. When Scott died the church in Craiova, Romania had a foundation and walls. There was no money in their building fund. Through the money donated to Scott's Memorial there is now a roof, insulation and siding. So we would like to continue in that endeavor. I had the idea of finding 100 people to give 100 dollars. That would be $10,000! Now I know there maybe someone reading this who could give that whole amount and someone else who would find $10.00 a stretch. But in some combination I am trusting that we could come up with that amount of money for their building fund. It is not likely these funds can totally be fulfilled on that side of the ocean, as Romanian’s average salary is about $300.00 a month.

Keith, Tim, and I are returning to Romania in August to help finish building the church. Joining us are; Tim's friend Doug (a plumber), Larry Sabulsky (an electrician) and his son Luke, and my sister Helen and her son John. Now I know some of you who know me well, are fearful of the thought of me picking up a hammer or saw. Well, do not fear. I will not be doing very much on the building. But we will be doing a short VBS for the church. The Craiova church has a ministry to children/ young adults who have come from the streets and orphanages. So we will put an emphasis on them. We will do scrapbooking; taking pictures and help them put a book together for all who are interested.

Tim has committed to paying for 3 of the plane tickets.. It is his way of doing something in his brother's honor, who loved Romania so. My sister can cover their expenses. But we also want to help Larry put together the necessary funds. We are appreciative that he is willing to take his vacation time and travel with us and work in the heat to help finish this building. Fifteen years ago when E-Free Columbia sent teams to Romania to Evangelize and start a church, Larry told us “whenever they build a church I would like to help.” Well, we took him up on that! It touches me so that he and my sister both have this opportunity to do a short term mission with their children. I am so appreciative that we had the opportunity to do this with Scott and that Romania became such a big part of his life.

We will cap off this endeavor with a potluck on June 28th at E-Free Church – Columbia at 6:30 pm. We will hear from Steve Austvold who was the pastor at the Craiova church for 5 years. We will also show a video presentation of the Romania church; the building today and our trips of the past. This will include Scott!!

I want to say this in closing; I don't feel this is just something I want to do, I feel God has commissioned me to do this. Fifteen years ago I thought we would be missionaries to Romania. The other “Romaniac” in the family was Scott. Scott and I wanted to move to Romania. But that never happened. Now I believe that God tied my heart to Romania, because he wanted me to be a missionary “for” Romania not “to” Romania. I know that God doe not need me to build this church, but he is allowing me to be part of HIS work. I don't know where the money will come from but He does. (You made a way through the sea and paths through the deep waters...Ps 77:19) If God lays it on your heart please help this little congregation.

Thank you, Sherryl Laws and the Laws Family
